Ava DuVernay and Autumn Riley

Ava DuVernay, born August 24, 1972 in Long Beach California. DuVernay began to develop her artistic and creative side in her early years, thanks to Aunt Denise. Aunt Denise worked the night shifts as a nursing assistant so she could indulge her passion of theater and literature during the day. DuVernay enjoyed the movie West Side Story, which she showed her. DuVernay was taught by her that art can be an avenue for action. DuVernay was educated by her mother who was a social sassy and instilled DuVernay to express herself through art. While DuVernay grew up within Compton with her family she lived in Lowndes County Alabama where her father's family grew up for generations. Her father was awed by the historical civil rights marches over the Edmund Pettus Bridge in the neighboring town Selma Alabama. DuVernay visited Selma during the summer and was in awe of the idea to film on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. DuVernay graduated from Saint Joseph High School Lakewood California, in 1990. She went to the University of California Los Angeles for a degree in English and African American Studies. DuVernay started producing for broadcast journalism while she was still in university. DuVernay was an intern at CBS News at the time of O.J. Simpson trial. DuVernay was told to look at the trash of a jury member's home. In the course of her work she was dissatisfied with journalism, and shifted into the business of publicity. DuVernay got a job right from college, working as a young publicist for a studio. The DuVernay Agency is her first PR agency. In addition to PR, the company created several lifestyle networks including Urban Beauty Collective, Urban Thought Collective Urban Eye, HelloBeautiful. Autumn Riley.............................Autumn Riley was born in Los Angeles United States. The birthstone for Autumn Riley is . Her fame is due to her role on American Experience, (1987) A More Perfect Union and A More Perfect Union (2009). Autumn was the Rose in A More Perfect Union and Anna Payne of American Experience.
