Kellie Martin is an American film, television and stage actress. Her most well-known role is Christy Huddleston (Christy) in the period drama Christy'; Rebecca Thatcher (Life Goes On) in Life Goes On; and Lucy Knight ("ER") in the medical drama ER". She is also famous for her role as the main character in her own Hailey Dean Mystery television series. Martin was the daughter of a department store buyer as well as an elementary school teacher. The actress began her acting career at seven years old when her Aunt, who was a nanny in Michael Landon's family, helped Martin get a part as in the 1982 television series Father Murphy. After her graduation of Yale University, she took acting more seriously and landed important roles on the smaller and large screen. Martin has also been as a dancer and photographer. Martin is the mother of two children and is the spokesperson of Lupus. Since her sister's tragic death at the age of 19, Martin has worked to spread awareness of Lupus and its symptoms.
